Eating at your Friend's House

In front of you there is fresh, pile of cow dung on your plate. Your best friend's mother claims it is beef stroganoff, but no matter what it is you are going to gag when the first glob touches your tongue. The friend's mom is waiting to see you eat the first bite and tell her how wonderfully superb her cooking is. As you lift up your spoon you think what is it going to taste like? Hopefully not as bad as it looks. You shove a chunk down your throat. It didn't taste bad; it tasted horrible. With the sweetest voice she asks how it tastes. "It's really good." you reply, hoping she didn't see your face of revulsion.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time Essay

People lie 3 times in every conversation they have. The question is why do we lie? People lie to protect themselves. Others times they lie to hurt someone. However in a family, often when someone tells a lie it is because they don't want to hurt someone they love . The problem with lying to someone we love  is that when the lie is discovered it often causes more hurt then the truth ever would. 

Often people lie to protect someone they love. In the book, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time the father lied to his autistic son about  killing a dog and his mother abandoning him. He did this because he believed his son couldn't handle or understand the truth. In the movie The Last Song, the father lied to his children about his illness. He was diagnosed with cancer and feared that his children also wouldn't be able to understand or handle the truth that he is going to die. They didn't lie to them to be cruel. They did it because they loved their children and didn't want them to have the pain they were going through. In both situations, the fathers lied because they were have difficulty facing and dealing with the truth themselves. 

Although the fathers lied to protect their children out of love, when the children had found out the truth they were angry with their fathers. In the book, Christopher finds out about his father's lies and becomes angry. He feels hurt and betrayed and runs away from his father. In The Last Song, when the children found out that he kept the secret about him dying, they got angry with him. In both stories instead of making their relationships stronger it causes them to drift apart. Trust is the biggest part of a relationship and when there is a lie it breaks all trust.

It might be very hard to tell your family the truth, but when it comes to having a strong family you need to tell it. The truth is the best policy.

Character

Christopher is an autistic boy who doesn't like when people touch him or the colors yellow and brown. He likes animals and math. If he didn't have these little ticks about him there would be no story. He wouldn't have gone outside and hugged the dog if he didn't like animals, and if he didn't like being touched then he wouldn't have hit the cop. Christopher is a static character because he has these things about him that hasn't changed in the book. All that has changed about him is his thought of his dad being dangerous.                             

Point of View

The book is written in the perspective of Christopher and since he's autistic, he doesn't understand what people are saying. He also doesn't get emotions well, so he would misinterpret some of peoples actions. He believed that his father didn't tell him about his mother because it was for himself, but he actually did it for both of the them. He didn't Christopher to think it was all his fault that his mother left.

 Also, Christopher thinks that his dad is very dangerous after killing Wellington, but that was just an emotion. He got mad and thought a productive way to channel his anger was killing a dog but clearly it wasn't. Christopher had known this feeling when he hit the police officer because he got angry that he touched his shoulder.

My prediction is that Mrs. Alexander was the murderer of the Wellington, because of how she acts around Christopher and the information she tells him. Hoodwinked is a movie telling an alternative story of Little Red Riding Hood and the animal that took all the recipes in the forest was the unsuspected bunny. Mrs. Alexander reminds me of the bunny because, like the bunny, she gives him information to forget about the case. She was the one to tell Christopher that his mom had an affair with Mr. Shears  and got him to think about his mother and not the murder. Also she wanted him to have tea and cookies during the case.

Life of Pi

When you are a 16 year-old man and lost your family in a spontaneous shipwreck, you might think you have the worst life in the world, but Pi would have the luckiest. It is amazing that Pi was able to tell the tale about his 227-day odyssey through the Pacific. Pi claimed that he was not alone, he claims to be with a Bengal Tiger named Richard Parker. Richard Parker was Pi’s protection and source of living.

Richard parker was not the only imaginary animal; there was a gentle orangutan, a wounded zebra, and a vicious hyena. All of the animals were real people. From the start of the ship wreck there was a certain way the author talks about the animals. One part he talks about how the orangutan floats on the crate of bananas with the sunlight behind her. The author made the ape sound like a real person.

The only person that wasn't a real human was Richard Parker. Richard Parker I believe was Pi's survival mode. Pi believes that he needs the tiger to survive and so he could be safe from things that try to kill him such as the blind man. If Pi was alone on the boat he would have psychological brain damage and thoughts of suicide might have occurred. The tiger Pi made up didn't just help him physically, but mentally, too.

The tiger symbolizes power and passion. It also represents cruelty and wrath and its appearance in dream is usually a sign of new power or passion that has awakened within a person. This fits the story with Pi having to suffer on the sea. He is awakened with three religions that follow him through the book. 

Pi had gotten power with Richard Parker by his side. He was able to stand up to the tiger for his well being and had more confidence in himself.

Are you Proud of Our Country?

Are you proud of how we recite the pledge of allegiance with as much emotion as solving an algebraic equation? How about the people running the country like a poor marathon, trying to out run the rest, but slows down from too getting tired. But, are you proud of our independence? What about our freedom of speech? In other countries people wouldn't be able to say that they are not proud of our country.

People from different countries try to escape into America for the freedom we have. There are people in Mexico that were in a carpet rolled up in a back of a truck just to come into our country. Some would kill to come to our country. They notice that we united and there is no major conflict within our country. My mom tells me everyday about how we are blessed to live here and should not take it for granted. It doesn't matter if we are proud or not of the U.S., but you are thankful to be here.

Authors note; This was a an assignment for language arts that was to have to write a Concusion to the story Robin Hood. we had to change the ending and write the conclusion. I feel like I rushed this ending so I don't believe it was my best work. I felt like I needed to add more word choice.

Once Robin took all the gold he thought "Why should I give to the people? I did the crime so I deserve the gold." he looked at the path to freedom and the path of the people. He took his first couple steps towards freedom but stopped and thought, He should take them with him. He brought the gold to his people. Robin shared his dream of building boat and being shipped to norway. The dream had came true in the next month.

Walmart Wonderland

          “Mommy, where are we going?” I belted from the back of the car over the loud music that was playing Ice Ice Baby . Mom had turned the music down. “What was that honey?” She said with her mouse voice. “Where are we going?” I said again. “We are heading to Walmart to get some food.” “What is Walmart?” I asked. “It’s a grocery store but with clothes, games, and toys.” I was intrigued by this wonderland with the name Walmart. At this time of my life I had little knowledge of the things not in my house or yard, I usually don’t get out much since I’m only 5 years old.

          “Maybe since we are there we can get a little treat or something?” my mother said to me. Whenever she says that it makes me feel like a dog., but in this case I’m glad to be a dog. ”Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES!” I screeched like a chimp while flailing my legs trying to escape from the booster seat. “Aren’t you an eager beaver?”  she said. Mom had parked in a tight parking spot. “Hey hun, I don’t think I can take you with me. There is a stupid person that does not know how to park”.

           She opened the window and asked me what my treat was. I said animal crackers of course. How could my own mother do that?! She should’ve taken me with her, this place sounds like a dream. Clothes, treats,and toys that are just for me. I stared begging like a dog that wants food, squirming. “Sorry Peanut.” She walked away. I felt abandoned. Not anyone for me to talk to or to play with. So this is what being bored was like . I was bored for 5 minutes and I won’t be here for any more.

 I squeezed the buckle on my Buzz Lightyear booster seat and ripped myself out. I pulled the door handle and the door opened a quarter of the way. I held my breath to easily get myself out the door. As I shut the car door I look to the car. They had a big dent with a scratch the same color of our car. What a coincidence? I wanted to act like a spy in this movie I saw with my parents.

I did a summersault across the concrete road. Not the smartest idea because, well…. it’s a concrete road. As I did rolls across the parking lot then I hear a loud horn go off. Then a truck gently brushed the top of my head. I looked at the truck. It had run over me. “Cool”, I thought.

 I was walking towards the door and thought “Where is the door knob.”  While taken my first steps on a mat the door slid open. Not only was this place was a wonderland, it was magic, too . My mouth dropped to the floor as I stepped in.“Wow.” I silently said to myself. This place was amazing. Chips were on my left, movies on my right, and clothes straight ahead. In aw, I walked to a person with a smiley face on their blue vest and I tugged on her shirt.

“ Why aren’t you a cutie? What can I do for you?” she spoke with enthusiasm. “Can you tell me where the treats are? My mommy said I can get one.” “What kind of treat are you looking for?” “ The cookies with animals.” She had a weird look on her face. “Oh. The animal crackers?” I nodded. She walked me over to an aisle that was stocked full of things like Cheez-its and granola bars. I was about to go in a comma for all this excitement that is building inside of me.

 She walked me to a big jug filled with animal crackers. “Oh my goodness!” I screamed. I only wanted a little pack of animal crackers like what you get from the vending machines, but this will work, too. “Is this what you wanted” I nodded eagerly, wanting to pop the lid and dig my face into the crackers. I popped half the lid open, but then the lady pushed it back down and scolded at me about having to pay first.

“I will have to find my mommy.” “You don’t know where you mom is?” I shook my head. No. I began to think this isn’t my greatest plan.

We walked over to a table with a phone. She pressed a button and talked into the phone. “We have a lost child here.” The words echoed throughout the store ”It is a little boy about 5 years-old, brown hair, about 4 foot tall. If this is your child then please come to register 1” We waited for 20 minutes. The woman was getting impatient, tapping her foot and with a worried look written on her face, so I told her the whole story.

How I escaped from the booster seat, being a spy in a movie. I felt terrible. I shouldn’t have done all of that. I could never see my mother again. I started crying all over my animal crackers. Then these men with black uniform had a badge that had the letters P-O-L-I-C-E. They started asking me questions and the smiley face women told them the whole story, because I was unable speak while sobbing. It had been an hour and the men said they got a call about a with a high voice woman who lost her child. It was my mom.

They let me have the animal crackers on the house. I see my mom come out of the car, I hugged her. But when I looked at her face, it was the same face when I spilled on the carpet with juice, only with puffy eyes. No more animal crackers.

My Worst Best Friend journal

In the book My Worst Best Friend there are two best friends that seemed from two different worlds. I hate the way Savannah pushes around Gracie. I know Gracie isn't considered pretty or popular but she still has no right to make Gracie her own puppet. I bet in the book Gracie will get a whole make over by Savannah and then she will be jealous of how popular she gets and will have a huge fight. Then Savannah will have no friends and have to ask Gracie to be her friend again.

Lady Gaga

Did you know that Lady Gaga has over 10.4 million fans on Facebook? It doesn't surprise me that she does because she is starting a new look. She was a outcast in her school because people thought of her as a little bit eccentric, but no one thought being eccentric could get you so far. There are a lot of reasons why Lay Gaga has tons of fans and the main reason she is her voice.

Most artists these days use technology to change their voice but Gaga has a voice that sounds amazing just the way it is. Her voice has a soft and hard side. In one of her songs "Telephone" (,featuring Beyonce,) the beginning has a smooth tone and in "Born This Way", the end she has a rough tone. A lot of artists can only have one or the other. Her style changes of music changes also from pop, electronic, and dance.

Another thing that does change about Lady Gaga is her outfits. She has created a style that turns heads when she walks by. Some say she looks like she's going trick-or-treating later but her style fits her nickname which is "Mama Monster". She calls all of her fans monsters and always says "Put your paws up!", in a lot of concerts. Another reason she dresses very different is create a statement that is you don't need to be like everyone else.

Lady Gaga never fit in at her school because of hw she dressed and acted, but that was what made her famous. You can always find a girl or boy who can sing but not people who creates their own image. She is not afraid to be herself and she tells the world they shouldn't, too. She is a role model to a lot of people that includes me. 

Blonde moments

Everyone has heard of a dumb blonde moment, well I am very mad at who ever came up with them because it makes blondes seem stupider than Jupiter (, even though Jupiter is an object and thus not having a mind). How come it can't be brunette moments or red head moments, even black hair moments.  It is not like there is a chemical that if you put it of your head it makes you dumber and bleaches your hair. Blondes are capable to graduate top of the class with over a 4.0 gpa. One movie that seemed like they supported this saying is Legally Blonde.

Reese Witherspoon had to play a character that was clueless and of course she had to be blonde. When I first saw the movie I thought it was pretty good because of obstacles she overcame that made her smart and it shows that blondes have the potential for being smart. Although she seemed a little bit unaware , she graduated top of her class at Harvard Law. So haha to all who believe in this stereotype.

My Destructive Sister

My sister Brittney is one of the most clumsiest person I know. It seems that she breaks everything she touches. One thing that she broke was our sink because we had a rusted sink and she was doing dishes and tried to turn the head of  the sink and she broke it. It was ok because we played prank on my family by taping the head on and it will spray the person who turned it on. It worked on my sister Courtney and my mom. Also she broke my bed, the vacuum, Prego sauce , a mustard cap and much more.

The Frog That Liked Bees

There once was a frog

He like to eat flies.

Powerpuff Girls

Power puff girls are awesome! They made of sugar spice and everything nice unlike when the monkey master mind made pummel puff boys they made of frogs, armpit hair and a dirty water. My favorite episode was when there was a bogey man and they defeated them with sun light and Bubbles overcame her fear of the bogey man. Bubbles is soooooooo cute like a 6 year old, Blossom is really smart like a college girl, and Butter cup is as stubborn as a teenager. Although they are very different they share a love for eachother.

The frog

Kayaking

One day I had my friends come over to my house and then I told them I have a Kayak. It is a medium sized red boat and could fit 2 easily. So they were whining about going in the river and they guilted me into it. We were about to get only 2 people at a time but the we decided that we should try fitting all four of us in the boat. Our first time trying we fit 2 people in the whole of the kayak, one person on the front, and one in the back to even the weight. We had the two in the middle and the one in the back ready and once the front person got on the boat started rocking and then it flipped on top of us. It took us over an hour to figure out we can't have 4 people on the kayak but the max was 3. But it hurt sitting on the person lap so we switched it to 2 people but we found it is impossible having 4 people in my kayak.

Chula Vista Slip

For a little vacation my family and I went to Dells and stayed at the Chula Vista resort. It was amazing because there was so much you can do there like the water park, speed boat tours, shuffle board, volleyball, basketball, and a lot more. One of the things we did do was the boat tours and we got soaked head to toe. We were going to go up to our room and change for Wizard Questing. So when we where about to go in the elevator in the lobby I slipped and fell on my back. Then my dad runs next to me and yells "SAFE!" and doing the safe sign like they do in baseball. My whole family started laughing. I head a headache for the whole day.

Gum

I can't imagine me not having gum, it would be completely chaotic for me because I love gum. Whenever I have a piece it's either for just for chewing or I am angry. Gum is most commonly blew up and turns into a bubble. Bubbles are fun to make because they are easy to pop. It's not fun when you pop the bubble all over your face because it's almost impossible to get off your face. That is a reason why gum is bad because it is very sticky. The worst place to get gum out of is your hair for sure. Now that is impossible to get out. Although gum is very sticky it is my favorite thing to chew.

Willy Wonka's Teeth

 Willa Wonka's teeth are so perfect in the first and second movie but he lives in the chocolate factory that make chocolate, (of course, )gobstoppers, licorice, and gum. I don't get how he only eats candy and he doesn't have tooth decay. There is gum that is a 3 course meal but it made people turn into a giant blueberry and even the blueberry pie would cause damage to your teeth. Taffy is the worst candy for you to eat and he make the world famous LAFFY TAFFY. He also make GOBSTOPPERS which are hard candy that is terrible for your teeth. I wish I had as good teeth as Willy Wonka.

Swamp brothers

The first time I saw the commercial for Swamp brothers I knew I would like it, but I was wrong. I LOVE IT!!! It's so hilarious I can't even explain it. Swamp brothers is all about these two brothers. One is a professional animal wrangler and he was for most of his life. The other was a bartender in New York but quit and came to help his brother. The bartender now has to work with crocidiles, snakes, and other things he is extremely afraid of.

Some of the animals they catch are so unusual like they caught a crocidile that was 14 ft long (, that the untrained brother was screaming from,) and found a snake with no scales and was not even 2 in big. Most of the hilarious parts are what the little brother yells and screams and also how idiotic he acts. There has been a hand full of times he could've killed his brother, but I bet they love each other (, even though the little brother is VERY annoying).

Childhood Memory

Everyone has gone to the doctor at one time or another, but probably not for the same reason I had. When I was 5 or 6 years old I would always cry about my nose hurting as bad as my sister punching me in the face. Also I would get random bloody noses and when ever I was breathing out my nose they said they'd hate sitting by me in the car. One day I was not feeling good and was barfing my mom took me in the car and took me to the Childrens hospital. Once we got in they gave me sleeping gas so I knewthis wasn't for a stomach ache. Once I woke up I'm on a gurnee and was rolling towards me mom holding a container with a rusty screw. Then she told me that was up my nose.

When I found that out I was freaking out like anyone else would. After that experience I found out some things about me and my family. First I found out I love bubble gum. Before they gave me the sleeping gas I got to choose between the flavors of green apple or bubble gum. I'd never had bubble gum before so I gave it a shot and I loved the flavor. I also found out my mom can sense if there is something wrong with me. She can tell when I'm sick or not also. Next I found out that now I have something over my sister Courtney. When she was little she was called the devil child and so everybody figured it was her who put it up there. Those are the advantages of the incident I think that was caused by Courtney.

Penguins of Madagascar

I think the Penguins of Madagascar are AWESOME! They are so different in their crazy ways. Skipper is the leader and has a lot of knowledge of the penguin force. Kowalski is the braniac of the group. Sometimes he gets a little overboard on science and turns into a mad scientist. Rico is the maniac of the force. He can barf anything you need and that includes dynamite, granades, bombs, and bubble gum. Private is my favorite with his cute accent. I don't think he is the most attractive on the team because his eyes are far apart and a chubba lub. The thing I like about this team is that they are together through thick and thin just like friends.

Shoes

Everyone has their favorite shoes, mine happens to be Nike's. Nike's shoes are my favorite because they have the highlight colored sneakers. When you are wearing those kind of shoes with a nice outfit it makes it pop. They are the only kind of shoes that has multiple colors on the shoes. Asics has a maximum of 3 colors and nike seems like it's unlimited. Also they last for a long time. One of my sisters had a pair of shoes that they had for three years and then she gave them to my sister Courtney and she still wears them. Those are only the main reasons, I also like them because their comfy and cute. They are comfyer than other shoes because they have more padding in them and they're cute because with the colors and styles they can't never be cute.

Zoo Essay

What people would go to an alien zoo? Now what aliens would go to a people zoo? Weird I know, but there seemed to be a lot of attention between the both so a man named Professor Hugo who made this Interplanetary Zoo in the book, Zoo by Edward Hoch, an optical illusion. From one race's point of view they're at some sort of an alien cruise through the universe seeing all the other creatures of space but to others they're just trapped in a cage. It seems like there is a mirror effect in the book.

The mirror effect in this case is an illusion. From inside the ship there were fleshy humans there and they were walking outside the spaceship and from the outside there was animal like aliens that were in a cage. If the people and space inhabitants have known the truth about the sneak they would feel foolish not to know this. That happens to me a lot when I didn't recognize something so obvious. I get mad at myself and feel like a idiot, like when I looking for food in the fridge and I ask my mom where the Ketchup is, but it's right in front of my face. There is a question that can't get out of my head and it's if Professor Hugo is a con?

There is a possibility that he could be a sham but there is a certain way he talks and how his personality stands out. He also has a love for what he does because he wanted to know if the extraterrestrials liked it so he went to the house of one the passengers and overheard them say how good it was and with a great price. In his perspective he thinks it's like the saying "Two birds with one stone.". Professor Hugo has a good heart in my book. Also if he was a con he would've abducted and sold the aliens and humans  on different planets he and would be rich.

The story would've been better if he was a cheat because it would be more suspenseful. Other than that last comment the story was really good. It had me think of other things like a double win situation. One is that you're going up for a layup and you make it and you got fouled. Then you go to the free-throw line and make it. Whenever I do that in a game I feel great and I bet that what Professor Hugo feels when he hears how great his Interplanetary Zoo is.

Fat Boy Saves World Essay

If you were an extremely thick boy that hasn't said anything in eight years what would you feel like? You would most likely feel like an elephant invaded with mice,  but Neat Bennett has a sense of pride in every step he takes with his sister Susan. Susan also has issues like how she shaved  her head for a statement for getting kicked out of boarding school. She would also do anything for her teddy bear that is also known as her brother. Neat and Susan are found in the book Fat Boy Saves World by Ian Bone.  Reading the bond between Neat and his sister reminds me of my relationship between me and two my older sisters.

My two oldest sisters are in there second and third year of college so they come back only on the weekends which is nice. Amanda (,or Mandy,) is my oldest sister. She is the first person I ask what we should do today, because she the one that pitches fun ideas. We usually go somewhere to eat that could be fun or we play Wii. Brittney is kind of the boring one in the family. In her spare time she cleans, studies, or spends time with her boyfriend Steve. Although she spends most of her time with others, she knows when to take a break and chills out with us.

Susan would always like to relax and have fun with her brother like going to the amphitheater or getting a hotdog (, except Neat eats 6,).Neat has this connection with Susan that is not like any other friendship because they trust each other and knows the best for each other. My sisters are like that in a way because it feels like I can tell them everything. Both of my sisters have the same characteristic of Susan, they would do anything for their siblings. Mandy and Brittany would do anything for Courtney and me and Susan would stick up for her brother.

Sticking up for your sibling is kind of rare because they're the ones who pick on us. It is clear that Susan and Neat respect and love each other and would never trade each other for anything. If they didn't love each other they wouldn't hangout whenever she's home and Susan wouldn't disobey her fathers rules to take Neat out in public. Brittney and Mandy are the same way because if they didn't like me and my family they would stay up at college. I'm really happy I have the sisters I have like Neat has Susan.

24 girls in 7 days Essay

There are few things sadder than Jack Grammer's love life in 24 girls in 7 days by Alex Bradely. Jack's friends compare his love life to sad things such as Grandmas loosing glasses and kids getting lost in grocery stores.  The examples might sound worse than getting rejected to the prom but I'm sure posting  that you're free to the prom on the internet tramples over those grandmas and kids. If he would've made the move to ask Pamela out the right way to the prom this wouldn't have happened.

When you ask out the girl of your dreams to Prom she wants it to be marvelous and not awkward. That's mission Jack Grammer has failed. He kept stuttering and rambling on and girls want to be asked out confidently so it doesn't create an awkward scene. Also jack just talked about what he wanted to talk about and that gave Pamela the idea that he is self centered. There is one word a girl would say about how the guy asked her out. Spontaneous.

I know a guy who asked a girl to the prom in a clever way she couldn't refuse. The guys name is Brad. His friend and him wanted to ask out these two girls. They had an idea that involved the principle. On the loud speakers the girls name came up and they had to go to the office. They were wondering what they did wrong and the principle was standing with two detention slips and handed them to the girls. While not understanding what they did wrong they read the slips and they said “Will you go to the Prom with us?" and Brad and his friend popped out. The girls obviously said yes.

Brad and his friend nailed right on the head. They asked out the girls in a way they would remember and that's all that girls want. Girls want to experience something others haven’t. Everyone has experienced an awkward situation like that and most people would say no for just a regular date so what would you say for the Prom. If Jack would’ve created a mind-blown situation he wouldn’t be caught in this tight space.

Amber's Purple Flower

Authors note; this was a chain writting with the conbined efforts of Ali, Mitchel, Jose, Maria, Kevin, Nick, and me.

Amber stared at the big purple flower. It was beautiful, until Nick cut the flower down with his chainsaw. Amber yelled at him, " You meanie! Why would you do something like that ?" and walked away with a frustration cloud over her head. She wanted to et a new purple flower. Turns out that was  the last flower of that kind in the word. But Amber didn't believe it.

She was so determined to find another flower with that beauty. Until she remembered the seeds in the flower! Then she can plant more. She went back to the flower to get the seeds found in the flower. She asked Kevin where the seeds were. He said, " I squished them!". Then Amber asked nick where was the flower. He replied, " I ate it!" Then she fell to her feet and fainted.

Once she woke up she realized that it was all a dream. She looked at the vase the flower is usually in and it was gone! Her mother had made it into a casserole and a delicious one, too.

Pigs as Pets

Would you be surprised that pigs would be great pets? Well I wouldn't be surprised if they are. Pigs Are ranked #4 of being the most intelligent animal behind Dolphin, Chimpanzee, and Elephant. So pigs would pick up tricks faster than dogs. Although some pigs can be aggressive domestic pigs rarely ever are. Also pigs are very clean mammals and if you keep their toilet away from living spaces and eating areas. Unlike cats you can't leave a litter box in the laundry room. There are some things the pigs need to have a healthy home. They need space to run and play and to live and they need a place that is not so dry because they can't sweat. Other than those little things pigs are a great pet in my opinion.

Favorite candy

When people ask me to name different candies a bomb goes of in my head. Skittles, Reeses, M&Ms, and cotton candy race through my mind .One time me and my volleyball team were naming all candies, it took us ten minutes until we had to quit. Naming candy is like if you were running a Marathon, it seems like it's never going to end. Although there are a lot of candies but I have a love for certain ones.

 Toxic waste is my favorite sour candy. Every time I have one my eyes water and my tongue feels like it's shriveling. I swear, it's more sour than a lemon. My most loved chocolate candy is Reeses.  My dad got me hooked on them when I was little. It is the perfect combination of chocolate and peanut butter. My favorite sweet candy is The purple Laffy Taffy. When you're eating it, it gets longer as you stretch it out with each bite. Dum Dums are my most beloved suckers. They have so many flavors and the one I like is the pink lemonade.

Sports or Unicorns

I don't know which one to write about!

My time for thinking has run out.

Over ten minutes in this chair,

In my work I'm getting nowhere.

Unicorns have magical powers,

But sports you can play for hours.

Unicorns have hooves and horn to match,

in sports you play you can catch.

This magnificent creature has a glitter in its mane,

Professionals to win they train and train and train.

Or I could write about them together,

This is going to be easier than ever.

Deep Water Responce Essay

About 7000 people in the U.S. die each year from drowning. The writer in "Deep Water", William Douglas, could have been one of those unfortunate people. He was thrown into a pool without warning by an 18 year old person into the deep end. If it was me I would be swimming up to the top but William had no idea how to swim. When I first read this story I was thinking of a encounter with me drowning also.

I was really young and my family and I were at a hotel. Once we got there my sisters wanted to go to the pool. So we did and I was going to swimming lessons so my family didn't pay attention to me. I looked around and we were the only ones there. Mom and Mandy were talking near the rim of the pool, Brittney and Court are doing tricks in the water, and Dad was on the phone talking to his buddy from work. I remembered I brought floaties incase I was getting tired of swimming and just wanted to float.  They were on the blue rim of the pool and then I had an idiotic idea. Jumping on the edge of the pool I slip the Freddie the Fish floaties on my ankles and leaped into the water standing, thinking I was so smart.

"Mom, look!" I yelled, but she didn't hear me. So I tried walking over there. With my first step I tried to keep my balance, but tipped over face first! You would think that I would just twist my body and get up but the floaties made me like a weeble toy, it stayed one way and that was face down feet up. I was at the deep end so can't walk with my arms to the shallow end. My mom was in the pool and I could see her waist down. Water was pushing against my mouth like people trying to ram doors down. It took over two or three minutes  . I reached my mom and banged on her leg like me playing a gong. She lift me up and I was gasping for air, cleaning the chlorine out of my eyes. Mandy was calling me a loser. I couldn't disagree.

Although "Deep Water" is how a man conquers his fear unlike me who will not try that ever again. Also he took swimming lessons and I don't remember hearing that there is a top notch walking on water with floaties program going on any time soon. Even though I didn't conquer my fear of standing on water we have drowning experiences.

Pearl Responce Essay

        Kino skillfully jabbed the oyster in the crack of its mouth and knew with the blade of his knife the oysters muscle hardened. Once Kino forced the shell to fall apart he dug through the oyster's flesh and there laid the pearl of the world. Although it seemed like the best day ever, things kept getting worse as the days passed. This story is The Pearl, is written by John Steinbeck who is a creative author. Steinbeck envisioned the characters of Kino and Juana who have both similarities and differences throughout the book.

        An obvious similarity is that they both have a love for each other. If Kino didn't love Juana then he wouldn't suggest using the pearl to get married in a church and if Juana didn't love Kino then she would've left him when he hurt her. Another similarity is that they both thought that the Doctor had a nasty heart when he didn't treat Coyotito for the scorpion bite. They also would do anything for their son Coyotito. Coyotito seemed like their world.

        Even though Coyotito was Kino's world, the pearl was his soul. That is one difference between Juana and Kino; Juana didn't lose her sanity for the safety of the pearl. Actually Juana wanted to throw the vile pearl back in the sea, which is another distinctness between the both of them. Kino wanted to keep the pearl to be rich and to be a man. Also Juana had no say in what they should do with the pearl; Kino was calling all the shots.

        That's how I feel sometimes when I want to go somewhere to eat. My sisters usually shut my ideas down. That's one similarity between me and Juana. A similarity between ma and Kino is he wants a rifle and I want a Nerf gun. I would just hide where my family won't see me and pop out of nowhere, but that's also a difference between us. Kino would use his rifle for protection and I'll use it to show my families and friends terror.

        Terror is what Kino and Juana had throughout the time they kept the pearl. They worried about what their future is going to be without it and it changed their lives forever. This book was full of likeness and unlikeness between the main characters and seemed like they got more different as the book went on.

Reflection on The Pearl

Now after chapter 4 it seems that being wealthy is not the only reason why Kino is obsessed with the pearl. Kino is sick and tired of the way people treat his race. To him pearl symbolizes the hope to make his culture be back on top. Although Kino's already a full grown man he wants to be the greatest man he can possibly be. He thinks the pearl is making him a man, but it's just destroying them. Kino killed a man, making his brother a criminal by helping, and hurt Juana. No one would think that is a real man.

Will the pearl destroy Juana and Kino?

              The pearl  might and might not destroy Juana and Kino depending on what they will do with it. They could be hated by their community or become crazy with the money. Although they might be the richest people in the town some rich people become more hungry because of what they have.  If they have found the pearl they should be thankful and know what's right and not waste it for random things.

   

              One thing that Kino shouldn't buy is the rifle because there wouldn't be a tremendous need for it. I can understand why they want to get married in a church, get new clothes, and give Coyotito an education, but there is no purpose for the rifle and the harpoon. It's like rich people buying an airplane, they will not use it all the time and what would Kino do with the rifle and the harpoon? If he goes hunting it will be probably only twice a year and then Juana will be mad.

Reflection

            When I read the first three chapters I felt like John Stienbeck gave a lot of detail to give the story a little wider picture. He wouldn't just write" There was a pearl in the oyster's mouth. " He wanted to emphasize what the pearl was like with the senses. He explained that Kino dug in the oyster muscle and described what it felt like. There is one problem I have with his writing, he mostly writes about the sight and feel of the object and not enough taste, hear, smell.  

Will the pearl destroy Juana and Kino?

                The pearl  might and might not destroy Juana and Kino depending on what they will do with it. They could be hated by their community or become crazy with the money.
